A new beginning

Two days ago I was browsing through the online shopping store Home Shop 18 and was checking out the new arrivals in fiction.I came across two interesting books,first one was I have a dream by Rashmi Bansal,an ex-IIMA student.It belonged to the genre of Inspiration.It was a collection of 20 short stories about different social entrepreneurs.I immediately placed an order for the book.Then this book called Horn Ok Please- HOPping to conclusions by Kartik Iyengar caught my attention.It was a story based on the real life incidents of the author and his friends and they discover the true India by going on a road-trip.Hrithik's next movie ZNMD also belongs to the road-trip genre.So,I was going through the authors fb page,where I found his mobile number.I gave him a missed call to make sure if it was really him.I got a reply in the form of text.It said,"Who r u?". To which I replied, "I'm Abhishek.Are you Kartik Iyenger?." He replied,"No.I'm Mother Teresa". It made me smile and then I replied, "Sorry !! I was just making sure whether it was really you.Actually,I was planning to buy your book". He said, "Oh the 'holy blook'.Get it off flipkart and I hope you like it". I replied, "Surely !! " Then he replied " Ok bro, have a good one. I'll call you tomorrow. Bye. "

I logged onto flipkart.com and placed an order for the book and today I got both of the books delivered at my doorstep. I started reading Horn Ok Please.I found it interesting and comical.The author is interesting as well, the way he calls himself a moron throughout the book and believes to be low on IQ and yet enjoys the spice of life is inspiring for other morons like me.

Bloody boring days are gonna start in a week and I have to complete the ppt for my mini-project.*Shit* What about all the time that'll get wasted in my college. I wish I land up in my dream place at least in the next year and never regret like I now do.

Week gone for a toss

So TRS has started a week long agitation including a 48 hr bandh in the pursuit of its demand of statehood.I came to know about the bandh,yesterday early in the evening but it didn't strike my mind that I should rush to the nearest petrol pump.Later that evening I went to my coaching classes and while returning the roads were in haywire,the people rushing to petrol pumps and causing traffic jams.Police were deployed at several places to avoid any brawls.That's when I realized that the petrol in my bike wouldn't last for the next two days.But I didn't have to use my bike for the next two days,so I didn't panic much until I got a call from my friend.He was to return from Kakinada tomorrow morning and he asked me whether I could drop him at his place as all the public transport were not functioning until tomorrow.I couldn't help him but later our watchman brought two liters of petrol.So,I called him back but he told that he'd better cancel his train reservation and delay his return by a week until the turmoil calms down.

As I switched on the television they were showing the civilians stranded at railway stations and bus stations because of no transport and the auto rickshaws were charging exorbitant prices not affordable by the general public.The bloody politicians however were cruising in swanky cars without any remorse for their public who never complain in spite of several such bandhs which cause them trouble.Would it be same in developed nations if it were like this.Would the public in other countries keep quite with the public transport stranded for 48 hours.It happens only in India.

Influence of the West on India

Whenever we use the term Western world,we generally refer to the U.S. or the U.K,because these two nations made a great impact on our country.The English ruled our nation for around 200 years until we got freedom on the 15th of August,1947.But,freedom from what? The Britishers' tyranny? May be not. It meant a lot more actually.Freedom from superstitions,illiteracy,evil practices,narrow-mindedness etc.Today,India has made a mark on the world map because it is free from the shackles of atrocity.Many unethical practices formed a barricade to the development of our country.There was no global exposure in our country.

India was a vast country with people belonging to various castes and creed.Thousands of languages existed in those early days.Each place had a characteristic of its own.The climate too in India was never typical,but rather varied.It snowed in Kashmir whereas hot and humid winds blew over the coasts of Kanyakumari.There were hundreds of Kingdoms and unity was never a feature as people were fighting amongst themselves.Evil practices like child marriages and black magic were rampant in those days.But,nobody questioned anybody as to why they were like that.

With the arrival of the English we started becoming broad-minded.Practices like child marriages,Sathi etc were questioned and succesfully abolished,all this during the period of their rule.People started opening up and were ready to leave the chiche'.

In these 60 years of Independence,the country's roads and buildings might not have gone through major changes nor the poor really found any hope to survive happily.But there sure has been a drastic change in the people's mindset.In a country where girls were not allowed to get educated, we have seen a Sania Mirza and a Kalpana Chawla making it big in their respective fields.Most number of software professionals and doctors in America are Indians.We have made a certain mark.Would all these have been possible had there been no influence of the West on our country? No, I suppose.

Bbuddah

Calling Amitabh Bachchan a Bbuddah is really an insult to the man's agility,energy and charisma.At the age of 68, he does what many people half his age find it difficult to do.The reason he is able to do so is because of perfect time management.It's easy to put into words but hard to follow for guys like me.If you ever read Amit ji's blog you might get a hint of what I'm trying to tell.May be he's an insomniac,as most of his entries are posted late in the night,usually after 12:00 am.I wonder how many hours of sleep he gets everyday.I have been a follower of quite a few blogs but many of them usually write occasionally or some start and don't ever come back.But this old man started blogging around three years ago and writes something every single day.He is an inspiration to the young lot of people who are turning into couch potatoes and gaining round bellies like me.At his age many people don't even know how to use a computer,but this old freak is tech savvy,owns the best of cars and rides a Harley Davidson at the speed of 150 kmph.His latest movie,Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap hit the screens this week and is already making waves.Did you see him dance in the song Go Meera? He is the classic Bachchan.Yesterday I was watching his interview on CNN-IBN where they were discussing about his old days when he was an angry young man.He still remembers each an every event in his career on his finger tips.Even as the film is a low-budget one it is still giving a tough competition to other movies like Delhi Belly and Transformers which have also released this weekend, as per reports in India.

Keeping the Bbuddah aside for a while,I would like to share something to concern about.The earth is in serious danger as per the little knowledge I gathered and who else could be responsible for it,but we?Everybody knows this but pay little heed to it because they know that they'll be safe until a catastrophe occurs and wipes out the face of humanity.So I need not mention the effects of our carelessness.But think, if our ancestors had done the same to our generation,then we would be living in drought and famine today.So do your part for your future because every single hand can change at least one more hand's destiny in this world.Don't do anything that would harm our planet earth or the earthlings.So don't carry a "I don't give a damn" attitude on your sleeve.I recall a quotation that I read long time ago in a Mahindra Ad,which says,

"When 'OK' is no longer OK,we call it Rise."

Busy days are going to start in a week and I'm really excited about it because it would put an end to my lethargy and I can concentrate on my work.But that doesn't mean the fun ends there,actually the fun starts now.Me and my friends made it a point that we'd spend this last year of our engineering life in the most fruitful way.I've decided to keep aside all the unworthy things aside for a while go for a spin.

Finally !!

From the past few days I started following The News Hour on Times Now and I started liking it.Arnab Goswami is a guy, who I suppose is a neutral,courageous and a man of truth.I started reading a good amount of newspapers,online articles,blogs etc to get at least a brief knowledge about our nation.I never used to like politics and whenever people around me used to talk about it,I would pay no heed.But I started developing a liking towards it these days,blame it on all the free time I am getting.

Well,I am feeling a bit nostalgic about something these days and hence I'm trying to keep myself as busy as I can.The other day I was getting bored and felt like going on a long drive on my scooter.I decided to go to the zoo park as it was far enough and the place is good.So I filled my scooter with petrol and zoomed away.I took some photographs and spent some lonely time in the lap of nature.

I was thinking about CAT one day and realized that only four months are left for the preparation and I still didn't start serious/rigorous work.Then,I started browsing some MBA websites and came across an Institute which I'd rather not name here,but that is where I wish to see myself in another year or two.It is not an easy job to get an admission there and so I made a simple schedule which I have to follow for the next four months.Hope everything turns out well.If not there's another year to prepare and attempt a second time.I am happy that finally I have a goal for myself and know where I want to be.Yippeee....let's see what's in store.
